As part of the official Ukrainian Fashion Week program, on February 16, the NewGen Lab space at Mystetskyi Arsenal hosted the announcement of the The Culture of Design award winner. This prestigious award was initiated by Ukrainian Fashion Week in partnership with the fashion retailer INTERTOP Ukraine.

The award, which includes a UAH 150,000 prize and an exclusive contract to develop and launch a collection for sale in INTERTOP stores, was granted to designer Liliia Oliinyk.

"I can't believe I won this award and will be able to bring my vision to life with INTERTOP. I hope this creative synergy will be a success both for me and for such a major retailer. My collection is inspired by Ukrainian nature and designed to be highly functional. I’m grateful for this opportunity to turn my idea into reality," shared Liliia Oliinyk, winner of The Culture of Design project.

The prize money will support the designer in developing her brand, including investments in professional software, expanding production capabilities, marketing, and education programs. Over the next six months, she will refine her collection and prepare it for large-scale production and retail with mentor Volodymyr Podolian, creative director of PDLN.

Empowering Young Ukrainian Designers

This initiative has become a professional launchpad for talented designers eager to establish themselves in the fashion industry.

I was truly impressed by the quality of work from all participants. The creativity and skill among young Ukrainian designers are inspiring. Out of 59 applications, the jury shortlisted 12 finalists, leading to the selection of Liliia Oliinyk as the winner. The collaborative collection by Liliia Oliinyk and INTERTOP is set to launch in fall 2025.
