MTI Company Receives Authorized Economic Operator Status

MTI has become the first Ukrainian company in the electronics, IT, and home appliances distribution segment to receive the status of Authorized Economic Operator (AEO).

On February 15, 2024, in accordance with Order No. 215 of the State Customs Service of Ukraine, MTI hi-tech distribution was granted Authorized Economic Operator Category C (AEO-C) status. The AEO status is recognized internationally as a quality mark in foreign economic activities, particularly in logistics and customs clearance. It confirms that a company authorized by the state complies with all procedures related to efficient and secure customs clearance within the international supply chain, while maintaining transparent and responsible relations with customs authorities. The AEO program not only helps Ukraine fulfill its obligations under the EU Association Agreement, but also enhances the country’s reputation on the global stage.

For MTI, as an importing company engaged in international trade, this status will significantly simplify and speed up customs clearance processes, open new opportunities to expand its portfolio in logistics and customs services, and make it a more attractive business partner. This, in turn, creates additional benefits for its partners, as clients will receive their goods faster due to streamlined customs procedures.

The authorization process took nearly eight months of preparation, during which MTI meticulously formalized all necessary processes to comply with AEO standards. The company also underwent a multi-stage, rigorous assessment, which evaluated:

  • Compliance with customs and tax regulations
  • A well-established accounting system, trade documentation, and internal controls
  • Financial stability
  • Implementation of practical standards for the competency of customs-responsible personnel

"We are proud of this achievement, as obtaining Authorized Economic Operator status is a crucial step in confirming our company’s adherence to security procedures and standards in international trade and logistics operations. It also highlights the highest level of trust from the State in our company’s activities. This status not only strengthens our reputation as a reliable and recognized importer and distributor with over 30 years of experience, but also allows us to optimize processes, increase competitiveness, and expand our service offerings. Most importantly, it enables us to provide additional advantages and guarantees to our Clients and Suppliers," said Borys Belianskyi, CEO of MTI hi-tech distribution.

The AEO status is granted indefinitely, but requires ongoing internal monitoring to ensure compliance with AEO criteria.

This further reinforces MTI’s commitment to continuously improving service quality and implementing international standards for effective foreign economic operations.
