Joint lecture for students of the State University of Information and Communication Technologies by MTI and Huawei

On March 26, the MTI (part of MTI Group) together with Huawei delivered a lecture for students of the State University of Information and Communication Technologies, dedicated to modern data storage systems (DSS).

The event provided an excellent opportunity to combine theoretical knowledge with practical experience from real IT projects. Participants explored in detail the key aspects of designing and operating DSS — from fundamental principles to modern technological solutions used in enterprise environments.

The lecture covered:

  • the operating principles of data storage systems and their role in modern IT infrastructure;
  • the hardware components of DSS: controllers, disk enclosures, types of storage media, and approaches to scalability;
  • DSS software — tools for management, optimization, ensuring fault tolerance and security;
  • current Huawei data storage solutions, their capabilities, and advantages for business.

The lecture was delivered by Heorhii Khotkevych, Product Manager at MTI, who shared not only theory but also practical cases of DSS implementation across various scenarios.

The students’ engagement was especially encouraging: lively discussions, insightful questions, and genuine interest in the topic demonstrated a high level of motivation among future IT professionals. The most active participants were recognized with gifts.

We thank the State University of Information and Communication Technologies for the cooperation and the opportunity to contribute to the training of a new generation of specialists. We believe that such meetings help students better navigate modern technologies and make informed career choices.
