How to Build Partnerships and Scale a Business?

On June 10, 2026, Volodymyr Tsoi, President of MTI Group, took part in a discussion on leadership, change, and the realities of Ukrainian business at RAU Expo 2026, organized by the Retail Association of Ukraine.

Joining Volodymyr in the conversation about leadership through change were Iryna Chechotkina, Co-owner and Co-CEO of Rozetka, Taras Panasenko, Co-founder of the Aurora multimarket chain, and moderator Andrii Zhuk, Co-founder and Chairman of the Retail Association of Ukraine.

To scale a business, it is essential to maintain a balance between control and speed. Today, everything is accelerating. In the past, when a problem arose, there was usually more time to investigate it thoroughly. That is no longer the case — decisions need to be made as quickly as possible.

At the same time, control over core principles must be preserved. Without control over values, finances, and reputation, a business will eventually fall apart.

Volodymyr Tsoi shared that the company’s first attempts to attract investors date back to 2008. However, the global financial crisis intervened. A second attempt was made in 2021 involving a minority stake, but then the war began. “I’m not sure whether it’s worth making a third attempt,” Volodymyr Tsoi remarked rhetorically. He identifies trust and mutual respect as the two key factors in working with partners.

Volodymyr also noted that approaches to team management are changing. Amid a labor shortage, companies are focusing on process automation and the implementation of artificial intelligence tools, while responsibilities are being redistributed and processes optimized.
